What up people? I’m pretty new to this blog thing but here we go! Some say Hip-Hop is dead because of the new artist coming in the game making ring-tone music and getting paid for it. I disagree, I say Hip-Hop is growing because of the “snap ya fingers” “get ya swag on” songs. People will grow tired of listening to the same thing which makes room for something new. For every “Swagga like us” There is a “Dumb it down”. Also it brings people, who wouldn’t normally be, closer to the culture. Once people have an ear for experiencing new music there’s no telling what they will have in the car “getting jiggy” to. I appreciate hip-hop from the hood conscience rappers to the Fonzworth Bentley rappers. Everyone has a voice and how they choose to use it is their choice. What’s Beautiful is when two different types of hip hop get together and make music that goes beyond ego’s, money, status or who killed who on the track. Showcasing those individuals talents to a foreign audience may do more than just bob ones head, I know this is super farfetched, but it could open someone’s mind to experience something new other than music. So keep the popcorn music poppin and the guns cockin…in one way or another, it’s making room for that Feel Good Music. This is Tory’s opinion.
